About Acoustic Care
Sara Ruiz, NP (F)
Sara is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in primary and urgent care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011, specializing in critical care, and later completed her Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Victoria in 2024.
Sara is passionate about providing safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care, with a special interest in ear health and improving access to comfortable, professional ear care services for both adults and children. She strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel informed, supported, and at ease during their visit.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with family, hiking, travelling, and exploring the beautiful outdoors of British Columbia.

Acoustic Care cannot provide earwax removal if any of the following apply to you:
- A diagnosed skin condition affecting the ear canal, such as eczema or psoriasis inside the ear.
- Keratosis obturans, a diagnosed condition where skin material builds up and blocks the ear canal.
- Previous radiation treatment involving the ear.
- Previous surgery to repair your eardrum, called tympanoplasty or myringoplasty.
- Previous canal wall down mastoid surgery, which changes the structure of the ear canal and creates a mastoid cavity.
These conditions require assessment and ear care through an appropriate medical provider, often an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist.
If any of these apply, please do not book an earwax removal appointment. If you are unsure about your condition or the type of ear surgery you have had, contact us before booking.
